Manuscript Evaluation

Recommended when you’re in search of initial feedback or guidance for your manuscript. Will comment on but not necessarily suggest any solutions for elements of structure, plot, character, pacing, theme, and other big picture issues.

Query Package Evaluation

Starting at $100

Recommended for those who are interested in receiving feedback on their query letter and opening pages (10 pages, Times New Roman, 12 pt, double spaced). Pricing may vary for those who are wanting feedback on their synopsis, comp suggestions, additional pages, etc. These add-ons cost between $50-$100 each.

Line Editing

$0.03 per word up to 50,000 words, $0.025 thereafter.

Recommended when you are wanting a more granular review of your manuscript. Addresses the creative content, writing style, and language use at the sentence and paragraph level, including but not limited to words or sentences that are extraneous or overused, redundancies, clarity in passages. Includes art notes for picture books and graphic novels. Two full passes are included.

Copy Editing

$0.025 per word up to 50,000 words, $0.02 thereafter.

Recommended when you’re wanting a polished product prior to publication. Addresses flaws on a technical level, including but not limited to checking spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax. Copy editing also ensures consistency, flags ambiguous or factually incorrect statements, and tracks macro concerns including but not limited to internal consistency. Includes art notes for picture books and graphic novels. Two full passes are included.

Formatting

Starting at $350

Recommended only for those who are pursuing self-publication. I will set up your book for publication based on your preferred specifications for your intended publication platform(s). Does not include cover design or interior or exterior illustration. Pricing varies based on complexity such as front matter, back matter, graphic or illustrated chapter headers or page dividers, etc. Two rounds of changes are included.

Proofreading

$0.015 per word up to 50,000 words, $0.01 thereafter.

Recommended only for novels which have already been formatted. Proofreading compares the typeset pages to your manuscript, ensuring all the words, punctuation, and pagination are in order. It is also the final checks for typos, grammar, and punctuation. Includes art notes for picture books and graphic novels. Two full passes are included.

* Please note that regardless of actual word count, all stories require time and thoughtful, in-depth edits. Due to this, the minimum charge for all services based on word count is calculated at a base rate of 10,000 words.
